About Cheryl Weber

Cheryl Weber is an independent writer based in Lancaster, Pa. She is a senior contributing editor at residential architect, and a contributor to EcoHome and Custom Home Outdoors. Earlier in her career, she spent six years as a senior editor of Garden Design, and another six years as senior editor of Remodeling.

Cheryl typically writes about buildings and landscapes — subjects stemming from her interest in affordable housing, green building and building materials, sustainable development, and the natural environment. She spent many years in the Washington, D.C., metro area before returning to her native Lancaster, Pa., in 2005 with her husband and two daughters. In 2009, Cheryl passed the LEED-NC exam with flying colors. Her published work has also appeared in Architect, Inform, The Washington Post, Preservation, Washington-Maryland-Delaware Home & Design, Waterfront Home and Design, Building Products, Natural Home, Builder, and Big Builder, among others. She studied English at Eastern Mennonite University and landscape design at George Washington University.
